17th Birthday & Birthday Haul

Thursday the 10th April saw me kissing goodbye to sweet sixteen and aloha to a new pointless age named 17. Yes i can now drive, but that is all that is new. Despite that, i had an amazing birthday!
I didn't feel overly excited about my birthday, i guess I've lost the birthday night before giddiness and now I'm just normal about it, which always confused me when i was younger, "Why don't old people get excited about their birthdays? They're great!"

I woke up fairly early around 7am, it was really sunny and i had a good feeling about the day. I opened pressies and cards and had breakfast, and then went shopping with my friend. I then went out for a meal with my family, after trouble with the blooming bus driver driving straight past us!

I also wanted to share what i got for my birthday and what i bought when i went shopping:)

I love all of my presents:)

Georgie

My dog everybody. A black Labrador retriever, turned 8 years old today, or 56 in doggie world. I don't care if its not normal to write about your dog on your blog (good rhyming skills there Laura), but I'm going to do it anyway.

We got Georgie from our local RSPCA centre at 6 months old. He had previously been with a single parent family with 5 children under the age of 10, and apparently a Labrador puppy just wasn't convenient (goodness knows why). We were obviously very lucky to get him, Labradors are very rare and very popular in rescue homes, and he was in great condition and full of character. I sometimes miss his puppy ways, but his character is still there which is what i love about dogs.
He has the kindest nature imaginable in a dog, he is very calm and can cheer me up instantly. He knows when I'm sad and tries to offer comfort (bless him), but he doesn't always play up to my excitement either (trying to get an 8 year old dog to chase after a ball is near impossible). He has gotten to the stage of selective hearing, "No" is no longer in his vocabulary when trying to stop him going in a massive muddy puddle, you cant win all the time i guess!
Labradors are great family pets, his been putting up with my little cousin since he was a few months old and was always very gentle with her even when he was a puppy. I keep hinting that he would love another puppy to play with, but Mum just isn't buying it ;)
I shall show you a few pictures of Georgie now from when we first got him until now, i hope this wasn't as tedious as you may have thought:p

First time in snow haha

We were on holiday and he had a nightmare in the middle of the night:(
