A Day Out | Monkey World

Last week me and the fam went to Monkey World for the day. We live fairly close and my mum is subscribed to their newsletters, and i used to adopt a baby chimp called Pip (who has sadly now passed away), and we love watching the TV series. We've been several times over the years and hadn't been in a while, so when my little cousin was visiting we decided to go once more.

I just really wanted to do this post because i took some really cute and funny pictures of the monkeys which I'm sure you'll like as much as i do :)

24/7

Despite not being one who is crazy for summer, i do however LOVE summery colours. Its no secret that pink is my favourite colour, and being in my top 10 Summer Nail Polish post, this polish by Sinful Colors ticks every box for my perfect summer nail polish. It was £1.99 from Boots, it dries very quickly so doing 3 coats doesn't really bother me, i spend the same amount of time on them as if i were using any other polish, and it is the perfect neon pink.

I'm not really one for neon colours that blind you, so this more subtle shade of neon pink is perfect, it doesn't look too bright in the bottle but it becomes more luminous once painted on the nails. The staying power is about 4-5 days without any chips but for £1.99, I'm not complaining. I decided to try and wear all my summery nail polishes as much as i can before summer ends because after that, they wont be used again until about March.

This also makes you look super tanned which is always a bonus for a summer nail polish!

L'Oreal Paris Casting Sunkiss Jelly Review

Ive become stuck in a rut lately with my hair, i dont really know what colour i want it and i havent cut it in weeks, seeing as it is the summer, ive just been shoving it up in messy buns and ponytails to get it out of the way with the added floral headband to make it seem like ive made an effort.

The other week i popped into Boots looking for a hair dye, i wanted to go slightly lighter for the summer and i spotted this product which i hadnt seen advertised or on any blogs, so i stood in Boots looking up reviews to see if it was any good and decided to go for it, seeing as it was on offer.

I was interested in the concept, usually i find dying my hair a chore and this seemed like the perfect solution. This product has a jelly like texture as the name suggests, and you run it through wet or dry hair and you dont have to rinse it out. Its a fool proof product, you literally just put it in your hair and your part is done, all you have to do is let the product do its job and then re apply the product the next time you wash your hair or if put into dry hair, every 3 days or so.

This gradual lightener gives the hair a natural sunkissed look in 3-5 uses, i had about 6 uses out of the 100ml bottle. You can use this product to suit you, whether you want to lighten all over, just highlights or even ombre. If you want a more intense, faster look then you can use a blow-dryer, or even sit out in the sun!

It is permanent, with 3 shades depending on the shade of your natural hair colour, this does only work on natural hair so if you have dyed hair, im afraid you will have to strip the dye before you can use this, or so it says on the box. I have shade 1 which is for light brown to dark blonde, and shades 2 and 3 are for darker blondes to lighter blondes. Depending on your natural hair colour, the results you get may vary from on the box, i have dark brown hair so it hasnt completely made it dark blonde, but more of a light brown.

It contains NO AMMONIA. It does however conatin hydrogen peroxide which is inevitable seeing as it needs it in order to lighten the hair. It has a nice smell, it is enriched with Camellia oil so it nourishes the hair whilst its on.

The packaging is so pretty, its very pink and pastel and very summery, right up my street and the packaging aim is achieved as its got a beach/shimmery feel to it, with a bright pink lid. It comes in a box with one glove and is a squeezy tube. the packaging is a win for me!

Overall i enjoyed using this product, it does what it says on the packet and it was £5 well spent in my opinion, it was something i looked forward to using after i got out of the shower, and was always eager to see the results once my hair had dried. It doesnt do miracles to your hair colour, although neither does the sun in most cases, and that is what it claims it does, its 'Summer in a tube'.

Homeware Bargain Haul!

A slightly random haul from me today, there has recently been a new B&M store build in my town and my mum wanted a look around and i ended up buying a few little things for my room and such, and seeing as i havent really done alot of hauls lately, i would show you these random and maybe slightly boring things!

The first things i noticed were in the cosmetic ailse, and although most of it isnt of great quality, i spotted these argan oil products. There were a few to chose from but i picked up the hydrating hair mask and the heat defence leave in spray, and they were both 99p! I got so excited over this bargain and althoughim not sure yet how well they work or how dilute the oil is regarding the cheap price, im sure thy will work well and will be a nice little treat for my hair that definitely didnt break the bank.

Next is quite a boring one, i spotted a basket of umbrellas in different colours, all with a heart print on, and i went for the navy blue as i seem to go through umbrellas like nobodys business, and i didnt have one for the upcoming autumn and rainy season, so now im stocked and only parted with £2.99!

Another odd one, told you this haul was random. I spotted this, and its one of those oversized mugs, sort of like a bowl with a handle. It was in this dusky pink with a grey inside and heart, and i think they also did the reverse colours. ive been really loving my various flavours of green tea lately and i also thought this would be perfect for hot chocolate in the winter, and again it was only £2.99!

They had a large selection of cute kitchen things, and in all nice pastel colours they had silicon baking things, and i was like a magpis to shiny things. I seem to remember last time i made a cake that i had trouble finding a cake tin amongst our cupboards and it was quite old, i thought i would get this one in pink, and although i dont make cakes very ofetn, this could possibly be used for other food, although i have no ideas as of yet. This was only £1.99!

Its no secret that i love candles, i almost always have some lit in my room and i love my wax burner with Yankee Candle wax tarts. I spotted this set of candles, there was a fruity set too but this is the bakery one, and it smells amazing. I think they may be more autumn scents, but for these four it was just £1.99, less than 50p each, bargain!

And last but not least, i picked up the original Fame movie, my mum has the series on boxset from the early 80's, but ive never seen the original movie and i picked it up for only £2.99.

So i think youd agree that B&M home store is the place of dreams for bargains, it would be perfect for anyone moving out who are also on a budget, or perhaps anyone going to uni.
