Someday in December #2

It's nearing the end of the month and the end of the year. This time of year always creeps up so quickly, and everyone's saying 'where has the year gone?'. This year, i don't feel that way. I think the year has run it's course, it's dragged and given me enough headaches (literally) to last the whole year, and i can't wait to start afresh.

I'm in a reflective mood, and i've not just been thinking back over this month, but the whole year. Christmas is a time to come together with your family and share joy and laughter. This year, something has dimmed about Christmas, i lost the giddy feeling. In June of this year, my Grandpa sadly passed away suddenly of cancer. It was shit, he was the rock of our family and we haven't quite gotten used to functioning without him. Last Christmas he was alive and jolly, this Christmas i had to wish him a Merry Christmas from the foot of his grave. It will never be the same, and i'm slightly bitter about that.

I've matured alot this year, i feel like i've been nudged out of the nest and i'm taking my first flying lessons. Leaving school was definitely a highlight of the year, if you followed my old blog you'll know just how much i hated school, hated hated hated it. I wasn't bullied or anything, just everything about it gave me a headache. It all paid off in August when i opened my results and got 5 A's, 4 B's and 3C's! This also meant me trotting off to college. It was a bit rocky to start with but all is settled, although i've recently took a step back to see how much it's been taking over my life and i'm unhappy with this. There are alot of things which are more important to me and i've been letting college over rule these things. The bus stresses me out. Subjects i don't want to do but have no choice, are over taking the subjects i enjoy. I have no time to socialise, i was stressed and tired all the time, making me not a very nice person to be around. I was getting my priorities wrong and in the new year, i intend to change this.

Last year i began a healthy lifestyle all thanks to Scola, YouTube her now she is ah-maz-ing. I've always started diets half-heartedly and they lasted 3 days maximum, but watching Scola's videos gave me the kick up the backside i very much needed. I lasted pretty well, i lost 1 stone over the whole year which to me is incredible. I know i could have done much better if i put my mind to it, although life happenings and stress made it all too easy nom on chocolate. I see last year as a trial run and this year i am determined to throw away the unhealthy me for good. If Scola does another six month challenge, i am definitely going for it!

I can't think of any other big things that have happened this year, i just feel like i've been pushed along and my life has turned a new course, i'm nervous and excited of what will happen next year. This time last year i definitely didn't expect this year to turn out the way it has, and i'm sure my expectations of next year will not happen as i wish, although i am a believer of everything happens for a reason.

I am currently enjoying my break and lounging around in comfy Primark pj's and a hoodie, it's all about the comfort. I've only just allowed myself to think of college and the work that needs doing, i shouldn't stress myself out and leave it till the last minute. I'm watching Miranda series 3 which Santa kindly put in my stocking, candles are lit, Christmas tree lights are on and i feel good. I've also been venting my feelings and thoughts into a diary daily now, which definitely helps.

In July it seemed i got very excited about Autumn and Christmas seeing as summer was pretty much over, well it seems i am excited about Summer now. When i pass my driving test i'm looking forward to going on road trips to the beach, and this summer i am determined to be confident wearing a bikini. Summer bodies are earned in the Winter, so i better get my workout clothes on! I've also been listening to summer music, my favourite is by Inna, her music always makes me happy and also, she gives me inspiration to go and work out! Her most recent single i have been replaying for weeks, and i'm still not bored of it

I hope you all have an excellent new year!

This time last year i devised a 2013 bucket list, as i didn't want to make resolutions that fail and i wanted a list of things to achieve when i'm bored. We'll see how that goes, but i shall reward myself if i complete it;)

Someday in December

Hello you lovely lot. I apologise for the lack of posts recently but things have become pretty hectic the last couple of weeks. Instead of rambling on in a long post, i shall just bullet point some of the feels from today.

  • I'm feeling very down in the dumps. I wish i would do blog posts when i'm happy but i feel a bit sickly and cliché going on about how wonderful life is.
  • I think i'm getting the same flu thing i had in February/March. I'm feeling very physically exhausted and all i want is a long hot bath and to climb into bed with the electric blanket on and watch crappy tv.
  • I have 2 weeks left of college which makes me want to cry
  • I've put on weight which also makes me want to cry
  • I can't get into the Christmas spirit:(
  • On a positive note.... I got a job! It's only a temporary Christmas job but i'm so happy to be finally earning a bit of money. And it's very good pay ;) Hopefully they'll offer me a permanent job, fingers crossed :)
  • Winter isn't my best season, but it's getting to the end of the year which puts me in a reflective and motivated mood.

Hopefully i'll be better in a few days, i want to do loads of Christmas posts but we shall see how that goes:) I'm often on Twitter and Instagram so make sure you're following on there:)

Coconut Body Butter | The Body Shop Review

It's fair to say that the body butters are one of the most popular products by The Body Shop. Their formula and erray of scents make people buy them over and over again. They aren't the cheapest of body butters on the high street, with the ever rising price currently at £13, it's definitely a treat. They do however often have offers on, like last week all the body butters were on sale for £5.
I own a Love Your Body member card from the body shop, which gives you 10% off every purchase, £20 worth of free products throughout the year, and invitations to events, like this week is their Christmas Party which gives Love Your Body member 20% off, a free goodie bag worth £36.50 (when you spend £30), nibbles and drinks and expert advice. You can have all of this for just £5 a year!
Coconut is one of the most popular scents of body butters, and it's definitely my favourite.

"Our Community Fair Trade virgin organic coconut oil comes from coconuts that are organically grown in Samoa. The nuts are gathered, selected and cracked by hand, and the flesh is cold-pressed. Our trade with Women in Business Development Inc supports several community projects, such as teaching local farmers new skills".

A 200ml tub can last for months and months, and you don't have to ration it! Use a generous amount, after a shower or bath is best, and rub it into the skin. It has a lovely tropical scent, it's not too sweet and smells like real coconuts. The smell does linger on the skin for a while after, which can be a bit of a love/hate thing, i personally love it. I bought my tub over a year ago and there's still plenty left!

The body butters are great for normal to dry skin, although i can't see why oily skinned ladies (or gents) can't use it. It provides 24 hour hydration and makes your skin baby soft. Because of this it works great as an after-sun, or even if you want to maintain your tan.

I loved it so much i bought the 50ml tub for travelling, which is £5. I also recently purchased the coconut lip butter, which is £4. It's a more sweet smell and it just reminds me of holidays! I get really dry lips in the winter and this lip butter is so hydrating, and it leaves my lips feeling hydrated and soft.

The coconut body/lip butters are my holy grail products when it comes to hydrating my skin, they sink in nicely and give moisture for hours. Despite the slightly steep price tag, there isn't anything bad i can say about these products.

Autumn thoughts

I am finally on a break. Man, i hate college. It wouldn't be so bad if i could drive as then I'd only be travelling an hour a day but i have to wake up at 6:30 to get the 7:30 bus for a 9am lesson, and then when i finish at 4:30 i have to wait till 5 and get back home at 6:10pm. Absolute joke. I lose at least 3 hours a day travelling other than just an hour if i could drive. and i WILL be able to drive next September, the bus is a joke.

The second reason why me and college aren't the best of friends is the amount of work. Yes i know, i wasn't oblivious to the amount of work 4 A levels would bring but it is stressing me out so so much and stress really isn't good for me. I've been having problems with migraines since the summer and they are getting more and more frequent throughout the week in college and it's affecting my attendance. I've only missed like 5 lessons because of them but again, it takes a long time to travel home from college and it really doesn't help when i have a migraine, because the only thing that seems to help at the moment is paracetamol and sleep. The doctors gave me some medication but it made it worse so i stopped using them, and now i have to make another appointment :( My tutor is also getting miffed with me because of my migraines and attendance, even though i found out my poor attendance is due to them not taking me off the health and social care register since i changed to English which is their fault and I'm getting stick for it. Grrr.

I'm sorry for rambling, but honestly that's made me feel so much better just venting my feelings to on here, maybe now i can relax :)

I am loving Autumn right now. If you saw my last post which was some fun things to do during Autumn/Winter then you'll know all the things i love about it. I am going to do everything on that list, and i will take pictures/do blogposts so do check out my Instagram for pictures of that, the link is in the side bar or you can search Laurasadaydreamer. I have also begun writing up ideas for my 2014 bucket list which i shall post in the new year, plus i will do an update on my 2013 bucket list which tbh, i haven't done alot of :/ My favourite thing to do in Autumn is to walk my dog around the countryside as we all know what a country bumpkin i am. Last week i took my camera and it absolutely poured it down, which is what Autumn is all about really haha. These photos also show off some of the beautiful Somerset countryside around where i live :)

I say this all the time but since i am now on half term then hopefully i shall be on my blog and YouTube more often so keep an eye out :)
I hope you all have a good break and i shall see you soon, sorry for the long rambly post but ya'know, they're necessary sometimes :)

Life This Week | #1

It seems I like to do summaries. I've been keeping a diary for the past couple of months and I really enjoy it, because I think it's nice to look back and remember certain things and feelings, that you couldn't remember normally because nobody remembers every little thing they do...

I've found college weeks go really quickly, even if they don't feel like it at the time. I think it's purely the boredom. It's also really hard to look back and differentiate last week to the week before. I must have a really rubbish memory :)

On Monday I was really tired, and I'm never usually so tired all day because I try to get a decent amount of sleep, so Monday was just a blur. I went to the doctors after college as I've been getting migraines increasingly often, they are extremely painful and I missed half a day of college last week because of one, so I thought I'd better get myself checked out. I had a student doctor so it took twice as long as my real doctor kept intervening. Eventually he gave a prescription (my real doctor), which I hope works.

Tuesday was the worst day on my timetable, I get up at 6:45am and don't get back until 6:10pm. I asked my mum to pick me up instead of getting the bus as I had an audition and I wanted to be ready. The audition was for a dance company of which I was a part of last year, and you have to re-audition every year. It killed me though, we warmed up every part of our bodies in the set warm up apart from our necks, which we used a lot in one of the phrases, and I ended up struggling to swallow as I'd pulled a muscle in my throat?! Possibly the weirdest injury I've had. The audition didn't finish until 9 and by then I was pretty much out of it.

Pretty sunset the other day:)

Wednesday is the best day on my timetable, I only have dance and I also get a lie in. Although it's still a 5 hour day for an hour and a half lesson. It was theory based which wasn't so bad as I was aching from my audition on Tuesday. Afterwards my dance teacher wanted us to take part in the musical, so me and my friend went along to the audition that afternoon. It was full of older students and I felt completely intimidated and embarrassed. It wasn't THAT bad in the end, but I was still cringing. I had a well deserved relaxed evening:)

On Thursday it's another long day at college and I felt pretty poopy, it was one of those days where I just couldn't engage my brain in any work we were doing. The weather was rubbish and I couldn't wait to get home to bed. And finish homework, stressy day.

Friday was very welcome to me and i also had a lie in which pretty much saved me. I was worried i'd wake up with a migraine again but thankfully i did not. I love taking my time getting ready and not having to rush for the 7:30am bus. I had psychology then a 3 hour break and then dance. I can't work out if i hate the 3 hour breaks or not, hmm. Anyway on friday lunch time there was an audition for the college's dance group, which i worked so hard in i felt sick. There's only 8 places and there was more than 8 auditioning, i'm currently hating the wait. So all in all i had 3 hours of dance and i was pretty much a zombie by the time i got home.

Yesterday i woke up with a horrible sore throat and cold. First of the season! Joking, I'm not happy about it. I popped into town this morning to buy presents and a couple of little bits, without even doing my makeup. That's right, i went into town in jeans and a t shirt,  hair scraped back and no makeup, i must of been a pretty sight. It was only 9am so not many people were about. I felt so sore from my audition on Friday, and my throat and head ached so i wasn't really up for it. I later went into town with mum and i got a new bag, as the bag i bought for college 3 weeks broke on the way to the bus station yesterday. Darn you Primark. I feel like i have alot of work to do but i'm just not up to it right now, i'm just having a lazy weekend :)

It's now Sunday if you didn't know, and my cold has worsened :( i woke up this morning feeling really really really really poopy. I had a bath, some lemon green tea, Radox muscle soak, some paracetamol and a nap (when i got out of the bath, otherwise it wouldn't have been so good). I'm currently at my Nans after enjoying a very welcome roast dinner. I have rehearsal later which i am NOT looking forward to. I'm also not looking forward to the morning, meh :(

I apologise if this has been a bit moody and rambly, but this has been my mood for this week, hopefully i shall try and have a better week next week, until then, ba'bye :)

Saturday Shopping Spree

Yesterday i popped into town for a couple of little bits, and this is what i came home with:)

The only clothing item i bought were some support leggings from Primark (£4), and this white t shirt from Peacocks in the sale for £3.

I also just bought some boring cosmetic things like my favourite Impulse in Very Pink, some more of my Simple Toner and a Natural Collection mascara.

The bag that I've been using for college for 3 weeks has broken, the handle snapped whilst walking to the bus stop and i look like a right wally. It was from Primark so i took it back and i ended up getting this one from Dorothy Perkins for £15. The materials a bit flimsy so i don't know how well it'll last, as i do carry quite alot around college.

This is the most exciting purchase's of the day. My Love Your Body card ran out in June and I've been meaning to buy a new one. You get 10% off plus £20 worth of free gifts throughout the year. I've been wanting to get my old Seaweed mattifying day cream for a while as I've been using a Garnier one, which isn't quite the same. I'm also running low on my Vitamin E face mist, so i also got one of those. It was 3 for 2 on skincare, so i got the Seaweed pore-cleansing facial scrub, as the seaweed range really suits my skin type. I don't know whether this was just for Love Your Body members or whether you had to spend a certain amount, but i got a free shower gel in White Musk, which i thought was really generous. I also got two little samples (how cute are the pots?!) of shower gels in Mango and Strawberry, which was the cherry on the top. I've always loved The Body Shop and i shall be doing reviews on my favourite products from there soon, so keep an eye out for that :) Browse The Body Shop here.

A couple of weeks ago i went to the Dorset County Show with the family, which is like a slightly smaller version of the Bath and West show which is the Somerset version. Anyway, this is what i bought from there as it's been hanging about in it's bag :)

I was approach by a lady and asked if i wanted to get my brows done. I've never got my brows done 'professionally' before, i think they look fine the way i do them. She filled them in with a stencil and a darker colour to what i usually fill then in with, and i was really surprised at how much it changed my face, which wounds weird but it did. Ruby Cosmetics usually supply salons but they do have a website, and i got a deal where i got the eyebrow colour and stencils, a lipgloss and an eyeshadow palette fro £20, when altogether it would have cost £60. I think that's a pretty good deal! Browse the Ruby Cosmetics website here.

I know it's sideways but i also got this really cute dream catcher in the shape of a heart, which i loves. I don't really believe they actually work but they look pretty:)

Sideways again, but i'm too ill to change it. I got this really cute panda keyring made with glass beads, this little guy was made in South Africa. There were so many keyring to chose from i literally took about 15 minutes trying to pick one. They also had loads of different things made from glass beads, with a life size rooster at the hefty price of £100. This little guy was much more in my budget at £3.

Last but not least, i bought this cute Piggy Pod from Just Add Pets. They do loads of really cool bedding for animals and even though my guinea pigs are boys, i got this cath kidson print one because i just love it:) Click here to go to the Just Add Pets Facebook page.

Here are my piggies Bambi (right) and Coco (left) enjoying their new piggy pod:) How cute do they look?
So that's my recent shopping, i hope you enjoyed having a sneeky peek:)

New Start?

Warning: This post will be very rambly, i apologise.

This week i started college. I don't really know what i was expecting, but fair to say I wasn't really over the moon about it. In my head i was expecting a completely new start, to meet new people and to reinvent myself. Obviously that didn't happen, i mean come on, let's be realistic. I'm an extremely shy person, and i was overwhelmed at just how many people there were, and my anxiety didn't really approve of that many people, so i panicked, great start.

You probably don't know, but I'm a dancer and it's the main thing i want to do, so i wanted to do dance at college, it wasn't really an option not to. The closest college that does Dance A level is an hours bus ride away. I'll live with that, i thought. The bus is really terrible, there aren't enough seats for everyone and several people have to stand up, several times the driver has had to turn people away, and this includes old people. I know this is probably the norm in London and cities, but i live in Somerset, i practically live in a field and to have this quality of transport has shocked me. There are two buses there but only one back, where's the logic in that? I made a swift decision that I'm going to be able to drive by next September, even if it means passing my test in four months.

That's the ramble over, now onto the good bits!

Besides the anxiety, my second week of college has gone fairly well. I LOVE my dance course, I'm also doing Sociology, Psychology and Health and Social care, which are all alright, but my main focus is dance which i am LOVING. I don't really have alot of spare time seeing as my average college day is 11 hours, including bus journeys, so the rest of the evening is spent relaxing or, in the next week or two, i will be back to dancing in the evening which I'm sure will kill me. I feel really bad about not blogging for over a month because i really do enjoy it, it's just finding the time and thinking about different posts i can do. I've also slacked majorly on my YouTube, i haven't made a video since May and i haven't put one up since July, I do have a haul to film but again it's finding the time. I like to film when i have a free house because i hate anyone listening to me, plus my editing program is rubbish, it doesn't save when I've spent hours editing and it's just a nightmare!

I can't believe it's September already. Like seriously where has this year gone? i always feel like i don't do enough, like i haven't really done alot on my 2013 bucket list (which i posted on my old blog, i shall do another blog post on it here at the end of the year and you can see how rubbish i did:)).

IT'S FINALLY AUTUMN! You may remember i did a post at the end of July raving about how excited i was for Autumn, and now it's finally here! I love Autumn, plus it's a run up to Christmas!

Have a good week, i WILL be back next weekend with hopefully not one, but two blog posts :)

Purple is the next Red

For two years, i sported a bright red barnet. Over the two years i varied in shades of red, but eventually i found my ultimate bright red, which is Poppy Red by Directions. Below are just a few variations of red, starting from when i was 14. Don't judge the embarrassing pictures, okay? ;)

This was bleached with a Schwarskopf colour over the top in Real Red, it was a bit too orange for my liking.

Unfortunately the previous job was patchy, so i went over it in Red Passion, which i think i preferred, it's more of a pinky red rather than a orange red.

This was many months later, using Directions Poppy red. As you can see from my scalp, i'd only just dyed it. Obviously if you bleach your hair the colour will come out very very bright, but school would throw a hissy fit, they said this was too bright anyway, and they had stopped me from becoming a prefect.. how sad!

This is still with Poppy Red, but i was standing under my light. This is what it looked like in the light or in the sun, extremely bright and i loved it. However, school did not. I had to withhold from any more crazy dye jobs until i left school. Well i left school two months ago, i think it's about time i brought the dyes out again, no? (ps, my face looks horribly pale here, but i don't mind, i prefer being pale to being tanned anyway).

I still have two pots of Poppy Red left, although i don't think i'll go for red straight away. I've been toying with the idea of going purple. I've seen a couple of people with it, and i think it looks amazing, if done correctly. I've been searching on Tumblr, Instagram, Google and Weheartit (bascially anywhere with pictures) and i've found some amazing hair do's and i'm really tempted to go for it.

I just took these photo's from Tumblr, if you happen to be any of the girls featured, please don't sue me, i just like your hair! ;)

So anything like the these pictures will be great, i've been doing research into different dyes and such and i think i'm going to stick with directions, because i trust them and i know how to use them.

Mini Primark Haul

Today me and my mum went shopping before i had an appointment, and we obviously went into Primark. I came to the conclusion that i need more bottoms and shoes, as i only ever pick up tops when i go shopping, and i noticed i only live in leggings and two pairs of shoes, because they go with everything so i stuck to them. I was slightly successful on this shopping trip, my aim was to get some shoes and bottoms and a door stop, as especially when we have the windows open when it's hot, my door goes berserk. I ended up with a door stop, two pairs of shoes, a pair of leggings, a throw and new flannels. A bit of a random selection but oh well :)

 Door stop: £5
Throw: £7
Flannels: £1.50
Black loafers: £6
Taupe booties:£8

The black loafers have padding in the sole and they are extremely comfy! This is today's me, i am living in this jumper since summer turned cold :)

Car Boot Sale Haul

Usually on Sundays we go round my Nanny's, but seeing as she's away we thought we'd go to the car boot sale and see what we can find. The weather held out and although it was super windy, the sun was shining. And as i said how much i love the rain, i didn't want it to rain on everyone's things because that wouldn't be so good. Also, i wore a jumper out and i didn't get too hot. Autumn is definitely on the way :)

Rain was forecast so not many people turned up to sell, and it only took up half the field. I was looking for cute trinkets to store things like jewellery and makeup in, i saw quite a few bits and pieces actually, but they were either chipped or ridiculously over priced. £8 for a vintage plate? No way. I ended up walking away with three things from the same person and i'm a bit gutted i didn't pick up more, as now i can't decide what to use them for. I think they're super cute, and i think i'm going to put makeup brushes in the tall navy vase, studs on the pink coaster and i'm not sure what in the green trinket.

*I started this post yesterday (Sunday), unfortunately i didn't finish it off as i developed and crippling migraine with sickness, erggghhhh. It's 14:55pm Monday and i've only just began to look at a computer screen for more than 10 seconds. Fun times :)

New Start.

Welcome to my brand new blog!

I decided to make a new blog to coincide with my YouTube channel, plus i wasn't totally happy with my old blog. I was going to wait until the start of August to keep my blog archive looking tidy, but i thought what the heck.

Over the last 3-4 weeks, we've had a major heatwave in the UK, reaching 90% humidity and 32 degrees C. I HATED IT. I am definitely and Autumn/Winter girl, and today has marked the END of the heatwave, which basically means to me the start of Autumn. Right now, you'd think it's winter. Normally, i would be complaining, but during the heatwave, i made myself promise to never hate the cold or the rain ever again. Don't get me wrong, i love the sun, i just hate the heat. Spring sun will do me fine. I suppose that makes me perfect material for living in England, seeing as everyone complains about the poopy weather, of which i shall never complain about again!

It is CHUCKING it down outside, everyone is moaning on Twitter and Facebook, but me? I'm currently cosying up in a jumper, with candles lit and sipping hot chocolate. I am so excited for Autumn, and even more excited for Christmas! I know what you're thinking. It's July, what are you thinking woman?! This is exactly what my mum said. But i know I'm not the only one who gets excited like this. I've always been like it. As soon as the sun goes, it's time to get excited for Christmas. Who cares if it's only July, Santa said on Twitter that it's only 151 sleeps! Too far if you ask me ;)

So me and my mum have just got back from Morrisons, where i bought a few tasty Autumn essentials. Firstly, i found this amazing hot chocolate stirrer... It excited me alot. It's basically a lump of chocolate on the end of a spoon which you stir into hot milk, and it makes hot chocolate. Mine is the marshmallow one so it also has marshmallows in the chocolate (plus i think i have whipped cream in the fridge... hot chocolate gallore;)). It just looks delish. I also purchased some candles. One in strawberry and pomegranate and one in vanilla sugar. Both smell yummy. I currently have a strawberries and cream candle burning, oh man the smell.

This was as delish as it looks. Does anyone else spray the whipped cream into their mouths? Haha, i do. And then refill the mug when it has all 'dissolved'. So yummy. This was a welcomed treat after i'd just walked the dog in the pouring rain, which i loved. No one else was out because of the weather but i chucked the wellington boots on, put up the umbrella and trotted off (more people should travel like this, if we were horses). I would walk for miles across the muddy countryside, get home and straight into a hot bath. Now that is what winter is all about. I LOVE IT.
